Cyndi || 29 || Australia
I'm a 29 year old Primary Education Student from Australia. I spent a year living and working as an Au Pair with Cultural Care in Boston, MA in 2011/12. Currently I am focusing on finishing my final semester of university before I graduate as a teacher.I love to travel, to have adventures, to meet new people, try new things, and write. I blog about food, music, funny things kids do and say, trips, new experiences, my observations, and sometimes totally random junk. Sometimes I take photos of people in bad-taste clothing and blog about them.
I love kids, cooking, running, AFL, pop music, the handful of people that make my world a better place to be, and my special teddy, Ted.
Follow me as I blog about my day to day life travelling and looking after kids!

A night with Colbie Caillat, the girl who wrote my life into her albums.
I realized that I am writing these blogs backwards (Maine, Colbie Caillat, and to come in the next few days, Taylor Swift & my Nashville trip), but when I get to writing, I like to write what is fresh in … Continue reading
How many lemonades does it take to get to Kennebunkport, ME?
Last minute, unplanned trips are really not my style. I like to plan, months in advance. I like to know where I’m going; I like to make sure I see everything. But when my friend Chrissy and I decided to … Continue reading
Always remember; never forget [9/11 remembered]
For the last 10 years, the anniversary of 9/11 has passed with little acknowledgement in “my world”. The date is remembered, and there is usually a large article in the newspaper, but nothing to the extent of that here. As … Continue reading
A dramatic daytrip to Six Flags New England [multicultural style]
So I finally resurrected my hurricane-interrupted plans to go to Six Flags New England (a theme park in Agawam, MA, about 100 miles from Boston, near the MA/CT border). This time I recruited not one, but 3 other au pairs … Continue reading
BOUNCE BACK from Homesickness…
After only 4 weeks here my host mom has discovered the procrastinator in me when it comes to uni work – tonight I “clocked off” (as us Aussie’s say) at 6pm, but managed to spend 2 hours longer playing with the … Continue reading
How I was nearly bored to death by Hurricane Irene
I’m going to start this by saying that I’m super happy that Irene didn’t hit us like some people were expecting. I’m glad that we didn’t lose power, glad that the basement didn’t flood, glad that we didn’t have to … Continue reading
